The Kansas Department of Transportation is hosting an informational public meeting for the U.S. 54 bridge replacement project on Thursday, Aug. 31. The public is invited to attend the meeting anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. at the El Dorado Civic Center, 201 E. Central Ave., El Dorado.
The KDOT project involves the replacement of the U.S. 54 bridge over the Walnut River, on the eastern edge of El Dorado. The project has completed the pre-construction discovery phase.
At the open house, attendees can learn about the project background and timeline and submit questions. KDOT staff and project team members will be available to answer questions. There will be a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.
Following the Aug. 31 public meeting, project information will also be available online on the KDOT IKE website at https://ike.ksdot.gov/.
For those unable to attend the public meeting in person, the project webpage will offer materials presented at the public meeting, as well as a portal to submit questions and comments.
